Everything we do is focused on ensuring we can give children the chance to live in a family where they’re valued, encouraged and given exactly the support they need to reach their full potential. We take extra care when matching, so children can live in a family environment that suits their needs and where they can really feel at home.
All of our offices are rated as 'Excellent' or 'Very Good' by the Care Inspectorate, demonstrating our standards of care provided to children. Our Glasgow fostering team supports foster families, children and teenagers living across Glasgow, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire, Dunbartonshire, Inverclyde, Argyle and Bute.
We've been working with foster families across Scotland for more than 20 years and have local established teams of social workers all across the region, supporting families with fortnightly supervision, regular support groups and local family events.
We also deliver ongoing training both face-to-face (with travel to either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office) and virtually, so you'll never stop learning. Plus, you'll have access to a 24/7 helpline with a qualified social worker, so you'll never be more than a phone call away from non-judgemental, professional advice.

Irene's story
Irene and her family joined Fosterplus over 6 years ago and have been caring for a brother and sister on a long-term basis ever since.
While Irene admits that it hasn't always been easy, she says that fostering has brought her family so many happy memories and can't believe the positive influence it's had on her own daughter.
Who can foster?
The minimum requirements to apply to become a foster parent are:
- 21 years of age or older
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Have a spare bedroom
- Have a strong desire to nurture a child in care

We try to make things as simple as possible to transfer to us if you’re looking to change from your current foster care agency or local authority.
The first things to do is to speak to our fostering advisers and we’ll arrange to visit you at home to have a chat about what’s involved.
